About Capital Ecology
Capital Ecology is a Canberra-based company providing specialist ecology consulting services to the ACT and surrounding regions of NSW. We are a dedicated team of talented and experienced ecological professionals offering quality, reliability, and value for money to our clients. With an intimate knowledge of the ecology of the region and the development approval processes, we offer superior ecological advice and services. Servicing both the public and private sectors, our projects inform a diverse range of developments, including urban and rural subdivision, infrastructure (road, rail, water, gas, electricity), renewable energy, and agriculture. We also regularly undertake conservation-focused assessments, research projects, and monitoring programs.
The foundation of Capital Ecology’s success is our uncompromising commitment to quality, integrity, and sustainability. This commitment is evident in every Capital Ecology deliverable, flows through every client experience, and ensures that we are consistently the best at what we do.
About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Field Ecologist to join our team. Working under the direct and full-time tutelage of Capital Ecology’s Principal Ecologist and Senior Ecologists, this role provides a rare opportunity for you to take your passion for ecology and biodiversity and develop the knowledge and skills to make this passion a challenging and rewarding career.
The role will primarily involve fieldwork-related tasks and technical support, including a wide variety of flora and fauna surveys, vegetation assessment, other terrestrial ecological surveys, as well as GIS mapping and assisting with drafting proposals, plans, and reports. The role will also involve supporting staff with vehicle and survey equipment maintenance and WHS-related tasks.
Based at our office on the edge of Canberra, with our client base including government (all levels), infrastructure, urban development, renewable energy, and quarrying and mining, you will work on many interesting and innovative ecological and biodiversity assessment and management projects across the Southern Tablelands of NSW and the ACT.
